I've got a couple of step-out photos for you, and I think you can figure out what I did from them.  Quinacridone gold, cobalt teal, black India ink, and white gesso:

Use foam brushes to pull the paints down from the top with the gesso.
More color added in, Permopaque black and white markers, acrylic glaze:

Colors adjusted, more lines:
