Photoshop poster edges

Alaska Quilt, in process

So, whenever you know you're not going to get a project done by your own self-imposed deadline, what do you do?  Start another project, right?  :-)

It seems like that's what I often do, and this time is no different.  I took the photo that I've been working with on my latest quilt, and decided to fool around with it in Photoshop instead.  I altered the colors a bit, and changed the contrast and light levels. And then I messed around with the Poster Edges filter until I got exactly what I was looking for.

Easy, but not quite as straightforward as merely pushing the "make art" button.  I haven't found that one yet!

Oh my goodness Cyndi, I do exactly the same thing when I know I am going to miss my self imposed deadline...and I am getting particularly good at procrastination, so I have tons of projects started!

Yup. They (mostly) all end up getting done, so I guess it sort of works for me :-)
I don't know anyone who doesn't do that! That's why our craft and art rooms usually look so chaotic.

I'm not disorganized in any other aspect of my life. It seems like a Jeckyl and Hyde thing and it drives me crazy.

Cyndi, I love what you did with Photoshop. PS happens to be my favorite fallback art toy when a project justing isn' going where I want.

Hey whatever works! I think procrastination can inspire some cool art projects you hadn't planned on.
