Book review and giveaway: Scraps

Scraps.  Just the name of this book evokes images in my mind of happily cutting and tearing out words and pictures to combine into a fabulous new collage.  And then I freeze.  Ohmygosh...how to start?  What to use?  Where to go from here?

Has it ever happened to you?  Well, Scraps: an inspirational field guide to collage is a book that may very well help you get unstuck.  It's not full of techniques so much as it's full of inspiration, although it certainly does cover the basic techniques.  If collage is your thing (or you'd like it to be) and ephemera is your medium, you will love the visual treats in this book.  If you are a more traditional scrapbooker who has been wanting to branch out, this volume from Lark Publishing will make your toes tingle!

***FREE STUFF ALERT***

If you would like to win a copy of this delightful book, leave me a comment below and you'll automatically be entered to win.  If you tweet or post on Facebook or other social spots about the contest, you can leave a second comment and be entered twice!  Please make sure that the link you leave here leads to an active email address...if I can't reach you, you can't be the winner!  Deadline: February 23, 2011

I'm an Art teacher and I'm sure this book would be invaluable for my GCSE students who are working on an exam question 'Found Objects'. I found this site whilst searching for ideas to inspire them - the book would be such a bonus.

Thank you for having a draw. I'm an artist and instructor of art to two different groups, emerging artists and adults with developmental disabilities so books are invaluable to me and to them.
