Shibori quilt - part six

The Spruces of Utah

After completing the hand quilting through all three layers of the quilt sandwich, I marked the outer edges and zigzag stitched with my machine all along the lines.  Then I cut out the quilt close to the lines and zigzagged around the edges again to make sure they were secure and wouldn't slip.

The edge was finished with 3 strands of embroidery floss, using a blanket stitch.  I added a sparkly silver-lined green 8/0 bead to every third stitch.  The finished size of the quilt is 18 x 21 inches

LOL!! On the pile with all the others :-/ I've got to do something about this...
I especially like the little beads to add glitter to the snow you mentioned in the last post, I can imagine it, even if I can't see it in the photo. Very nice overall.

Something that might work to show off glitter in pieces is to take a short 15 second video with a little panning across the work and post it to youtube to embed. Just something I've been thinking about trying myself.

What a GREAT idea! Thanks so much for the suggestion...I would never have thought of doing that, but I'm sure it would work. Now, to unearth my camera from the fabric pile...
:-)
Funny Eileen...that's exactly what I was going to ask...and Cyndi, sounds like me...only mine is "in the box". Gotta do something about this...It's gorgeous, I love the beads.
