Off for the weekend

Not my dh and I, but our son, Nate. He is heading off to Guatemala tomorrow morning for the rest of the summer. He's volunteering at an orphanage, where he went last year for a ten-day stint. When he came back, he declared that ten days just wasn't long enough to get anything significant accomplished. Mike and I are taking him to the airport tomorrow morning. In over 19 years, we've never been apart for longer than 10 days at a time. A week of camp here and there, but not months...and the distance! His little sister is taking it harder than we are, because she will be leaving for college before he gets back. I know, I know. We'll get over it!

Another gravestone

Gravestone From my recent trip to Salem, MA

See my other blog!

I have no new pieces to share because my entire existence has been wrapped up in preparing for a visit from HGTV's crew to film a session in my studio. I've written an on-going account of the experience on my jewelry blog !

Stripping

Some people aren't going to be very happy about this, but there's a website that enables you to strip all the image files off a webpage and view them without the rest of the content. It reminds me of Google's image search, but you specify the site. I think it might be very useful in viewing some sites where there are just tons of pictures. No surprise, it's most often used to view porn sites, but I think that artists can find some better uses...

Gravestones in New England

On Monday, while my in-laws were still with us after Dani's graduation, we went walking through a wonderful old burying ground. They thought I was nuts, but I convinced them to wander around and tarry while I got a couple dozen shots of the old stones ~ lots of death's heads and winged heads. Really cool. Guess what's probably going to show up eventually in my collages? :-)

Whew!

Finally, the festivities are over. My baby has graduated from high school, with all the usual silliness that goes along with that annual rite! Note that nothing much has changed ~ she's still making a mess wherever she goes! Now maybe I'll be able to get back to work...
